Interested in performing experiments related to research in the field of optics ?

Interested in activating the experimental station in the picture ?

You are invited to apply for higher degree studies in Professor Tal Carmon’s research group in the Broadcom Building, School of Electrical Engineering, Tel Aviv University.

Please call Tal: 058-4844886 or email him: total@tauex.tau.ac.il

In the Photonic Enhancement Lab, the main research evolves around light amplification using tiny optical resonators manufactured on a silicon chip (picture below), floating in the air, or made of unconventional materials such as plasma or water, and their use for precise measurements or demonstration of new phenomena. We do applied research in collaboration with the gyroscope industry in Israel as well as basic science research such as gravity or the interaction between light and matter

Master’s degree students in electrical engineering/physics are invited to apply

Required Qualifications: electrical engineering/physics graduates, or students in the last year of their first degree studies, who have the willingness and intention to pursue a doctorate. Courses in optics – an advantage.

Electrical engineering/physic PhD students are invited to apply

Required qualifications: Electrical engineering/physics master’s degree graduates, or graduate students nearing graduation. Knowledge of optics is an advantage.

Undergraduate studies project – Bachelor’s degree students who are interested in a project that will be carried out in the coming semester are also invited to apply

The required skills: knowledge of optics – an advantage.

Note: Prof. Tal Carmon recently moved from the Technion to the Tel Aviv University:
